\"DSCN2441\"<\/a>\"DSC_0016\"<\/a>Mary and I arrived at the town of Coral Bay on Christmas Eve.\u00a0 Walked around town a bit, but it was late afternoon and everything was closing up.\u00a0 We returned to Echo for a nice Christmas Eve dinner (including an excellent bottle of Huron Mountain<\/a> wine made by our friend Rich Baron).<\/p>\n


\nAfter dinner a tremendous thunder storm rolled in.\u00a0 Very unusual down here.\u00a0 We were kind of tense while the winds where howling, but our anchor held well and we stayed put.\u00a0 After the storm passed us, we continued to see the sky lit up in all directions as more storm cells passed around the island.<\/p>\n

The Christmas Day we moved around the point to Salt Pond Bay<\/a>.\u00a0 We were the only boat, but the beach is public and quite popular so we had lots of people around to meet. \u00a0 We did some swimming and hiked out to a nice overlook called Rams Head<\/a>.\u00a0 Along the trail we ran into some friends we had met a couple of days previous.\u00a0 Erich and Mary had sailed to St. John on a delivery passage from New York a month ago and decided to stay.\u00a0 We had an excellent dinner together at the world famous Tourist Trap<\/a> bar.<\/p>\n

We missed our family \ud83d\ude41 but, all and all, a pretty nice way to spend the day.<\/p>\n
