It’s hard to believe our last post was 3 months ago, but then life has been very busy…<\/em><\/p>\n

We spent July and early August working on various Echo home improvement projects and then had her hauled mid August for work requiring the boat to be “on the hard”.\u00a0 I’ll leave all the boat details for Jeff to write up at some point.\u00a0 Suffice it to say the new Echo has become quite comfortable to us and is certainly our home.<\/p>\n

\"Name<\/a>

Name Change ceremony<\/p><\/div>\n

 <\/p>\n

New graphics with the name change and port of call were added in Portsmouth, VA and we did a quick renaming ceremony en route to Deltaville one day. We haven’t yet done any reinforcement but will before heading out to sea.<\/p>\n

Engine Hauling<\/p><\/div>\n

 <\/p>\n

As previously mentioned we had big plans for land travel the past few months. Having Echo out of the water during our travels was a comfort since we would not have to worry about dock lines and such. It was also a great opportunity for the engine work.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

We flew to Seattle August 13 from Baltimore and returned September 27th. In the interim we spent time in Bellingham visiting Sarah before she started her training with Eastside Fire Fighters. Then we moved on to Alger where we spent time with Brian as he prepared for his Wedding\/Rafting trip. We often used Airbnb for accommodations and continued our close relationship with Enterprise Car Rental whose service of picking you up for your rental is very convenient for us.<\/p>\n

Some of the highlights include – hiking, kayaking (with Kristi’s company<\/a>), meeting meeting the kids friends and co-workers, catching up on Adventure Cascades<\/a> and preparing for the wedding\/rafting trip.<\/p>\n

All in all we enjoyed spending time with our kids during our stay in Washington.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Next on the itinerary, heading off to Montana for the wedding raft trip on the main section of the Salmon River.\u00a0 We put in at Corn Creek, spent 4 nights on the river then stopped at Mackay Bar Ranch<\/a> where the wedding was held.\u00a0 There were 28 of us rafting and 10 more came into Mackay Bar by jet boat for the wedding.\u00a0 The whole event was so much fun!<\/p>\n

Brian and Katie did a great job putting everything together and the wedding was beautiful.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Now, on to Detroit for another river reception.\u00a0 This at The Detroit Yacht Club on Belle Isle in Detroit. Since Brian is from Michigan and Katie from Kentucky there were lots of friends and relatives to celebrate with on this side of the country.\u00a0 Another great party with more great people!<\/p>\n

As has been the case for the past few years, we didn’t get to see everyone we would have liked to and didn’t have enough time to really catch up with those we did see.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

It was an amazing 6 weeks but we were happy to get back home to Echo!<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n
