SSB Update

We are in a no internet area so we can’t make a big post, but we wanted everyone to know all is well. We had a great week with Sarah and Kristi and were sorry to see it end so soon. Weather was less than perfect, but there was some good weather every day. Next we visited with our friends Joe and Cheryl at the Great Exuma Sandals resort. So great to see friends from home! We are now anchored at Lee Stocking Island just across from the Perry Institute for Marine Research. Sadly, the Institute has run out of funds and is abandoned. Very pretty island with fine diving around. We shared the anchorage, good food, and laughs with our friends David and Mary on Morningstar. David and Mary took off this morning for Georgetown. We are expecting some high winds over the weekend and plan to stay put here since it is well sheltered. Next week maybe we can get some internet and post some photos. Until next time…

Ahoy Echo! It’s been quite some time since we commented on one of your posts, but we’ve been thinking of you often! We had mentioned we were driving from Michigan to Key West for the holidays – and on our way there, we experienced an unbelievable coincidence. We just happened to stop for a night in Jupiter, Florida, and were gazing out from the River Walk behind the hotel the next morning – 18 Dec, 9:28 a.m. Peter was taking pictures, when a 473 Beneteau headed in from the intercoastal right past us. Zoom in. The name on the boat is ECHO! We yelled and waved, but the motors must have covered our noise. What are the odds of our paths crossing like that?! One minute on either side of that moment, and we would not have seen you. Incredible!

In the meanwhile, Peter crewed a sailboat delivery from LaRochelle, France to Miami! What an adventure! 35 days on the high seas through early February, getting the 41-foot Lipari catamaran into the MIami boat show just in time last week. We’re now looking out for our own 473 Beneteau for our sailaway in the next year or so! Our positive thoughts have been with you on your journey. We’re wishing you calm seas and favorable winds!

What a great coincidence! I checked our log and saw we were right there, right then.

Good luck on your 473. I got a message from ebay that one was listed there. Check it out.

Great crew experience for Peter. I’d like to do that some day.
