In Portsmouth waiting for a hurricane, again…

We’re docked in a marina about a block from where we sat out Hurricane Sandy almost two years ago.  Oddly enough, our dock location is directly behind another boat that is exactly the same model as ours.  Catamaran Blue is in front with ECHO 2 behind.  Just want to let everyone know we expect the storm to pass by very early tomorrow morning and at this point do not expect to experience too much wind or storm surge.  Hurricane Arthur has already passed by Charleston South Carolina where the original Echo is docked with the broker, it seems that Charleston fared well and Echo is fine too.

We we have taken appropriate precautions by tying extra dock lines, stowing any loose items and removing some tarps.  This time around we are at a floating dock so tidal change or surge are not a problem.  Also, we can easily go ashore if we do in fact have a problem.

We will continue to watch forecast and storm track and can leave the boat should it become necessary.  In the mean time we’re cooking up some lobster for dinner and will check in tomorrow morning to let you know how things go.

Hmmm. Lobster

Hmmm. Lobster

Good luck to anyone else out there in Arthur’s way, we hope everyone stays safe.
