Water rationing efforts prevent the preparation of dinner on board, we are therefore required to visit some of the many restaurants in town in order to maintain our strength. Although is does mean that we must wade through high tide on the dock when returning to the boat we are happy to do our part. Last night we did some extreme strength building at The Bier Garden. Consumption of sausage, schnitzel, cabbage and of course good German beer should hold us over for a bit.
The line tweaking continues and we are now tethered to the Australian boat so we really are “in this together”. Andrew, the Australian skipper, said it’s a bit like Sesame Street and we must all cooperate. We are bow to bow with a boat from San Francisco, weather permitting we might watch a baseball game together. Hope the Tigers do well tonight!
This morning’s storm track is better for us than yesterday’s reports. Wind speeds will be high but not as bad as it would be if the storm came ashore nearer to us. There will be loads of rain which we should start seeing this afternoon. Of course we still have the high tide to be concerned with along with the storm surge.
We will try to keep you advised of conditions as things play out. It is our intention to stay on the boat but as mentioned yesterday we can get to shore quickly if necessary and we would make a run for the Marriott hotel right nearby.
