Waiting in Porstmouth

Yesterday morning we transitioned a few miles to where our friends on Freedom were docked.  It’s a small basin at the end of High Street in Porstmouth, luckily there was room for us here too.  It’s a free dock, well protected and close to everything – great spot.

The short trip here was pretty incredible – so much traffic and such big ships!  This area is the largest naval yard in the world and a very busy commercial port.  You do have to pay close attention to all that’s happening around you as you navigate these waters.

We saw the movie Argo last night at The Commodore Theatre with Ed and Chris of Freedom along with Robin and Jim, another couple docked here.  Great movie and a unique theatre, it’s table seating with dinner service.  Nice place.

We are watching the reports on Hurricane Sandy and have decided to stay here until we know exactly what it’ll do.  Might be a few days of watch and wait but we’re in a good place with lots to do and see.  We haven’t yet made it across the river to visit Norfolk, plan to do that tomorrow.

Jeff also continues to finish projects on his to do list – I think it might finally be getting shorter.
